Go Navy!
There's only one thing worse than a bored Naval Aviator, and that's a group of bored Naval Aviators. This was filmed aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN-72). It's HILARIOUS! Glad to see our shipmates are making the best of things out at sea!

After Dark Horrorfest Review - Gravedancers
After Dark Horrorfest
Anthony and I have been constantly bombarded by commercials for this one weekend event and the previews have been ongoing since mid-Oct. Strangely enough, this one weekend event for the 8 horror films was scheduled for mid-Nov (17-19 Nov)! Why not Halloween? Would make a little more sense.

Well, since the first preview sighting, part of my daily routine incorporated checking the
official website for any developing news, more movie previews, etc. Who wouldn't get excited about 8 never before seen horror films because their "contents are too graphic, too disturbing and too shocking for general audiences." I was ready to spend the entire weekend just watching movies. All the individual movie previews on the website completely hooked me. Due to the fact, Anthony and I didn't want to spend $80 a piece to watch all the movies (as they were just regular movie ticket costs per the theaters' pricing), we decided to watch the one I thought would be the best, Gravedancers. Unfortunately, I also convinced my sister to go see it too. Sorry, Sis!

Here's how I would describe the movie, Gravedancers:
B-rated Film
Made for TV by SciFi (by the way, SciFi Channel is AWESOME)
Low Low Low Low budget
Horrid script writing
Disappointment
Not shocking
Not disturbing
Not graphic
Lame

For all the hype, this movie was not worth the ticket price. As a matter of fact, this would be a movie I'd watch on TV late at night if I couldn't sleep and SciFi was running cheesey horror flicks. Per numerous reviews online, the other movies were even worse. I guess I'll keep waiting for that elusive great horror film.

Sis (Sarah) Update
It's my Big Sis duty to brag about my Lil' Sis:

As Sarah is soaking up the sun in Hawaii, she finally broke away from endless house hunting to run a little race (10k). As contestant number 708, she finished 120 with a time of 57:48 mins. A whole lot better than me!! And the top it off, she finished 3rd in her age group (20-29). CONGRATS. Her first 10k and she placed. Next thing you know, she'll be running ultra marathons.

You Rock, Sis!

Ring Tone
Anthony and I watched Crank when it first came out and we were jazzed about the ring tone of Chev Chelios's (Jason Statham) cell that was going off every 3 minutes. The movie has this warped cinematic atmosphere where the scenes are either going 100 mph or 1 mph. This ring tone was trippy. I thought it was the sound editing that messed with the ring tone during those warped scenes but no, it was the actual ring tone.
Here's the link: Crank Ring Tone.
Just right click on the link, and chose Save (Target) As.
Enjoy!

Saw III Review
Saw III
True to form the movie is definitely not lacking in GORE. In fact, I think the studio made it a goal to make the movie more graphic and cringing with each sequential release. I couldn't stop clenching my hand at the on scene graphics torture I endured for almost 2 hours. For those who remember the last one, the recurring female in the movie was nail raking annoying and needed to be on an I.V. drip of valium. Like most movies these days, there was a twist and it's hard not to see it coming. Anthony enjoyed the movie, but we're both under agreement that Saw 2 topped the first and third one. But don't give up on the Saw franchise yet, with the success of Saw 3 at the box office, Saw 4 and possibly Saw 5 are in the works. What kind of devices can they think up now?

Pet Peeve!!!!
I was watching the opening ceremony for this past weekend NASCAR race at Houston. During the National Anthem, I couldn't stop myself from ranting and raving at Anthony and I realized how much the following grates on my verve to histeria: Why is it that women feel they can wear their hats and visors during the National Anthem but men have to remove their covers??!!! They were focusing on Kevin Harvick and his wife, DeLana, and for the past few races I've watched, she's always wearing a hat during the Anthem (along with numerous women in the pits and stands). Why!? Take off the damn hat!! Show some respect. You're hair will survive. For a progressive generation with litanies of womens' rights and equality, don't be the double standard. Fashion nor ignorance are valid excuses. The Anthem is a representation of the freedom our Nation attained upon the backs of our servicemembers. During the few minutes of that song, we offer a moment of respect and reverence to our Country and those that defend Her regarless of political emotions and views. That moment is extended by certain small gestures such as placing the hand over the heart, REMOVING OUR COVERS (unless you're in uniform), rending a salute in uniform or standing at attention if you're a current or prior servicemember in civies. People are always watching and such actions reflect a poor sense of awareness from someone with deminished character and lack of respect and courtesy.
