After Dark Horrorfest Review - Gravedancers
After Dark Horrorfest
Anthony and I have been constantly bombarded by commercials for this one weekend event and the previews have been ongoing since mid-Oct. Strangely enough, this one weekend event for the 8 horror films was scheduled for mid-Nov (17-19 Nov)! Why not Halloween? Would make a little more sense.

Well, since the first preview sighting, part of my daily routine incorporated checking the
official website for any developing news, more movie previews, etc. Who wouldn't get excited about 8 never before seen horror films because their "contents are too graphic, too disturbing and too shocking for general audiences." I was ready to spend the entire weekend just watching movies. All the individual movie previews on the website completely hooked me. Due to the fact, Anthony and I didn't want to spend $80 a piece to watch all the movies (as they were just regular movie ticket costs per the theaters' pricing), we decided to watch the one I thought would be the best, Gravedancers. Unfortunately, I also convinced my sister to go see it too. Sorry, Sis!

Here's how I would describe the movie, Gravedancers:
B-rated Film
Made for TV by SciFi (by the way, SciFi Channel is AWESOME)
Low Low Low Low budget
Horrid script writing
Disappointment
Not shocking
Not disturbing
Not graphic
Lame

For all the hype, this movie was not worth the ticket price. As a matter of fact, this would be a movie I'd watch on TV late at night if I couldn't sleep and SciFi was running cheesey horror flicks. Per numerous reviews online, the other movies were even worse. I guess I'll keep waiting for that elusive great horror film.
